At the "Rally to Restore Sanity" Jon Stewart referred to the media as, “the country’s 24-hour political pundit perpetual panic conflictinator.” I gotta say, I'm confused. To lump Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow in with Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity makes no sense especially when Stewart spends most of his air-time picking apart Tea Partiers with truth and sarcasm. Doesn't that make Stewart himself a "conflicator.”? I bet it does to the Religious Right. Here's the deal in simple terms... FOX is nothing like any other Cable Network. They are incomparable. FOX runs a racket like no other. Fox begins by creating their own truth. They then use "the truth" to further their own cause, which is to build a God Fearing, Republican Nation. FOX creates a story, like Obama spending $200 million a day during his trip to India, to give their bobble heads material to talk about all day. Once the story becomes "fact" to the tens of millions who watch, and the outrage measures white hot enough on the email Angerometer, they bring on their Pundits, like Palin, Huckabee and Gingrich, who will all run in 2012, to denounce Obama’s lavish trip. They monologue about how "us Americans" starve as our president Jet Sets. Then they talk about how they would fix our country’s financial woes if they were in charge. Now, FOX doesn’t care which one of their meat puppets wins. Either way FOX has stooge in the White House. FOX creates the false, but very topical, problem and offers you and me, their candidates to fix it.
FOX has become a government making machine, complete with its own constituents, candidates and office holders.
I have never seen this behavior from Olbermann or Maddow. As liberal as they maybe, facts remain facts. Facts are checked and retractions are made to correct mistakes. When was the last time O'Reilly or Beck retracted anything? Stewart himself ran a show where he played a clip of Beck whining about our "terrible" health care system after some doctor manhandled his butt hole during hemorrhoid surgery. Then Stewart ran a more recent clip of Beck praising the same health care system, at a time when Obama was trying to change it. They will say anything, at anytime, if it propagates their agenda.
FOX uses fear of gays, foreigners, and religion to pander, manipulate and finally indoctrinate their viewers. Fear is the ultimate weapon. Since FOX will not budge on their stance of superfluousness of truth in journalism, it is up to the rest of the media... MSNBC, Mahr, Stewart, Colbert, to penetrate the fear based belief system FOX fortifies each day, and wake the sleep-walking Religious Right.
Fear is impermeable to everything but TRUTH. You can’t reason with fear. The Right Wingers don't change their minds. That department shut down years ago. You can't appeal to their hearts cause that area has been sealed by mommies apathy and religious shame decades ago. They feel no compassion. You can't produce campaign ads using puppies.... just gay guys getting married, shut down gun stores, and black guys as president. The Right runs from their fears, using anger and hatred as fuel.Again this fuel is supplied by FOX in the form of beliefs, which are made fresh daily.
Truth is our only hope. It isn't pleasant to use on the Right. They do not react well. They spit, shake, scream, flail. You make think they're allergic. They're not. It's just that their bodies aren't used to it, so they have a violent reaction, but only at first. They may think they’re gonna die. They’ll scream at you like they are. But it's just the initial shock.
Try this… walk up to a Republican, Born Again Christian, and say, "carbon dating, evolution, and archeology prove the bible to be a horrific fairy tail, that enslaves the mind and heart." You'll notice nothing at first. But don't walk away. Keep looking. You'll see an eyelid twitch, then his head will bounce off his left shoulder and back, then he'll turn beet red... nothing to fear, he's just trying to hold back a primal scream. Finally, he'll unleash. Once the wails and panic settle he'll thank you for relieving the pressure of having to hold in all those lies for all that time. Now that was for the layperson Right folk. For the harder to reach ones we have Mahr, Olbermann, Meadow and I thought, Stewart... It's their truth prodding that got the Sharron Angles and Christine O'donnells to make the "I'm not a witch..." commercials.... to talk about using "second amendment remedies..." on TV. But without being driven crazy by the truth they could have stuck to their script, unshaken... They'd be in office right now. And who knows, by 2014, with FOX's Congress, House, President and Court, you'll find yourself doing the Lord's Prayer in the office, as a group, every morning.... you’ll be watching "Reverend Bob" heal the gays on TV, all to distract you from noticing that the middle class has disappeared completely... you know what happens then. We need Jon Stewart back... Someone needs to prod him with a little truth. Something like "Hey Jon, what may be hyperbolic FOX rhetoric to you is inspirational gospel for tens millions of patriots, who keep our country’s gun stores sold out of ammunition.”Go back to nailing them with truth and sarcasm, please!
